John Dane was born circa 1670.1 He was the son of Paul Dane and Elizabeth Martin.2 He married Elisabeth Auchinleck, daughter of James Auchinleck and Elisabeth Corry, circa 30 June 1730.1 He was also reported to have been married in 1734.2 He died in 1742.1
He gained the rank of officer in the Wolseley's Regiment of Horse.1 He received a jewelled sword of honour.1 He lived at Killyhevlin, County Fermanagh, IrelandG.1 He also had two daughters who died without issue.1 The dates of death for John and his wife Elisabeth are clearly inconsistent with the birth dates of their children. It appears that there is a generation of Dane's missing from Burkes Irish FAmily Records 1976.
