Michael Richard Cahill was born in 1820.1 He was the son of Edmond Hibbits Cahill and Dorothea Delany.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Magan, daughter of Francis Magan and Margaret Strong Hussey, on 21 August 1843.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Elizabeth Gwendoline Theodora Netterville, daughter of James Netterville, 7th Viscount Netterville and Eliza Kirwan, in 1876.2 He died in September 1887.2
He was educated at Stonyhurst College, Blackburn, Lancashire, England.1 He was agent to Lord Mountgarret at Ballyconra House, County Kilkenny.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Kilkenny.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Kilkenny in 1863.1 He lived at Ballyconra House, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.2
