Edward Brereton was born circa 1602.2 He was the son of Henry Brereton and Margery Bowen.2 He married Helen (?)2
He lived in 1637 at Loughtioge, County Laois, IrelandG.2 In 1638 he was regranted the Castle, town and lands of Loughtioge at a crown rent of £7.14.11.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Queen's County in 1639.2 In 1641 he was ousted from Loughtioge during Rebellion according to deposition of Thomas Cartram.2 He lived at Shannenmullen, County Laois, IrelandG.2

Robert Brereton was the son of Henry Brereton and Margery Bowen.2 He married Elizabeth Hyde, daughter of Sir Arthur Hyde.1 He died on 30 May 1642.1
He gained the rank of Captain of Foot.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1641 in the Laurence Crawfurd's Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1642 in the Lord Lambart's Regiment.1 He also had a daughter who died young.1
