Kathleen Mary Henrietta Townsend was born on 20 September 1876.1 She was the daughter of Horatio Hamilton Townsend and Elizabeth Ware.2 She married Surgn. Edward Bridges Townsend, son of Vice-Admiral Samuel Philip Townsend and Emma Maria Bridges, on 25 August 1898.2 She died on 4 March 1956 at age 79.2

Vice-Admiral Samuel Philip Townsend was born on 30 July 1831.2 He was the son of Richard Edward Townsend and Elizabeth Jane Bath.2 He married Emma Maria Bridges, daughter of J. W. Bridges, on 24 April 1860.2 He died on 16 June 1920 at age 88.2
He was commissioned in 1843, in the service of the Royal Navy.2 He fought in the Crimean War, present at Sebastopol.2 He gained the rank of officer in the H.M.S. Warrior, where he was Flag-Captain to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.2 He was commander of the H.M.S. Boxer between 1855 and 1858 where he was mentioned in despatches twice.2 He retired from the military in 1885, with the rank of Vice-Admiral.2 He lived at Fareham, Hampshire, EnglandG.2
