     Patrick Munro of Foulis, Chief of Clan Munro was born on 30 August 1912.3,2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Cecil Claud Hugh Orby Gascoigne and Eva Marion Munro of Foulis.3 He married Eleanor Mary French, daughter of Hon. William Joseph French and Victoria Louise Bellasis, on 11 January 1946.1 He died on 24 February 1995 at age 82 at Dingwall, Ross-shire, Scotland.3,2
     He was given the name of Patrick Gascoigne at birth.3 He was educated at Imperial Service College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.3 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.3 In 1937 his name was legally changed to Patrick Munro by Lyon Court decree.3 He held the position of Chief of the Clan Munro from in 1937.3 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW.3 He gained the rank of Captain in the Seaforth Highlanders.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)3 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Ross and Cromarty between 1969 and 1995.3

     From 27 April 1922, her married name became French.
