     He was given the name of Robert Crawfurd at birth.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the British Army.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Crawfurd, of Kilbirnie, co. Ayr [N.S., 1628] on 1 July 1794.¹ In 1820 his name was legally changed to Robert Crawfurd-Pollock after succeeding to his mother's estates.¹ He lived at Pollok Castle, Renfrewshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Mary Mushet was born circa 1770.² She was the daughter of Dr. William Mushet.¹ She married Sir Robert Crawfurd-Pollock, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Hew Crawfurd, 2nd Bt. and Robina Pollock, on 11 August 1793 at St. Luke, Chelsea, London, England.^1,2 She died on 26 February 1826 at York, Yorkshire, England.²
     From 11 August 1793, her married name became Crawfurd-Pollock.¹
