John F. Hines was born circa 1833 at Tennessee, U.S.A.G. He was the son of Elias Hines and Mary (?) He married Eliza Emily Lockhart, daughter of unknown Lockhart and Martha (?), on 9 May 1852 at Tippah County, Mississippi, U.S.A.G. He died on 11 November 1902 at Parker County, Texas, U.S.A.G.
He served as a Private in H 23 Mississippi Infantry, C.S.A.,
enlisting 19 Sep 1861 and served until discharged from a
Union prison 19 June 1865. With his regiment he was captured
at the Battle of Fort Donelson, 19 feb. 1862; exchanged
at Vicksburg 3 Sep 1862 and captured near Nashville 15 Dec 1864.
Both times he was imprisoned at Camp Douglas near Chicago. Reference: Clinton-18.

She was buried at Lowry Cemetery, Tippah County, Mississippi, U.S.A.G.
