     William Ramsay was the son of George Ramsay and Hon. Jean Hamilton.¹ He married Hon. Mary Sandilands, daughter of James Sandilands, 10th Lord Torphichen and Margaret Douglas Stirling, on 4 August 1828.¹ He died on 14 March 1850.²

     From 4 August 1828, her married name became Ramsay.¹

     James Sandilands, 10th Lord Torphichen was born on 21 July 1770.² He is the son of Hon. Robert Sandilands and Grizel Kirkpatrick.³ He married Margaret Douglas Stirling, daughter of John Stirling, 6th of Kippendavie and Mary Graham, on 3 November 1806.² He died on 22 March 1862 at age 91.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Honourable East India Naval Service.² He succeeded as the 10th Lord Torphichen, of Saint John of Torphichen, West Lothian [S., 1564] on 7 June 1815.²

     Charles William Ramsay was born on 22 February 1844.² He was the son of William Ramsay and Hon. Mary Sandilands.¹

     Susan Ramsay was the daughter of George Ramsay and Hon. Jean Hamilton.¹ She married Alexander Maitland, son of Sir Alexander Charles Maitland, 2nd Bt. and Helen Gibson-Wright, on 25 March 1819.² She died in September 1831.²
     From 25 March 1819, her married name became Maitland.

     Alexander Maitland was born on 14 September 1787.² He was the son of Sir Alexander Charles Maitland, 2nd Bt. and Helen Gibson-Wright.^1,3 He married Susan Ramsay, daughter of George Ramsay and Hon. Jean Hamilton, on 25 March 1819.² He died in September 1828.²
     He was a practising advocate.²

     Hon. Susan Mary Hamilton was the daughter of William Hamilton of Wishaw, 7th Lord Belhaven and Stenton and Penelope Macdonald.¹ She married Peter Ramsay, son of William Ramsay, on 17 November 1820.¹ She died on 30 December 1856.¹
     From 17 November 1820, her married name became Ramsay.¹

     Peter Ramsay was the son of William Ramsay.¹ He married Hon. Susan Mary Hamilton, daughter of William Hamilton of Wishaw, 7th Lord Belhaven and Stenton and Penelope Macdonald, on 17 November 1820.¹ He died on 31 August 1855.¹
     He was a banker.¹
