     John Carpenter was born in 1790 at Mount Tavy, Tavistock, Devon, England.¹ He was the son of John Phillips Carpenter and Elizabeth Stribling.¹ He married Lucy Garnier, daughter of Reverend William Garnier and Henrietta North, on 19 July 1828 at Wickham, Hampshire, England.¹

     Cecilia Markham was the daughter of Reverend George Markham.¹ She married Reverend George Augustus Montgomery, son of Augustus Retnuh Montgomery and Susan Maltass, in 1827.¹ She died in 1879.¹
     From 1827, her married name became Montgomery.¹

     Lt.-Gen. William North, 6th Baron North was born on 22 December 1678.¹ He was the son of Charles North, 5th Baron North and Catharine Grey.³ He married Maria Margaretta de Yong, daughter of Cornelius de Yong, Lord of Elmeet, in October 1705.¹ He died on 31 October 1734 at age 55 at Madrid, Spain, without legitimate issue.^1,4
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Grey, of Rolleston [E., 1673] in January 1690/91.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baron North [E., 1554] in January 1690/91.¹ He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1702 in the Foot Guards.¹ He was Colonel of the 10th Foot between 1703 and 1715.¹ He fought in the Battle of Blenheim in 1704, where he lost his right hand.¹ He held the office of Governor of Sheerness in 1705.¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in February 1704/5.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General in 1709.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1710.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) between 1711 and 1714.¹ He held the office of Governor of Portsmouth between 1711 and 1714.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire between 1711 and 1715.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1720.¹ In 1722 he was imprisoned in the Tower of London for high treason, and released on bail in 1723.¹ He was created 1st Earl North [England] on 5 January 1721/22, Jacobite.¹ On his death, the Barony of Grey and the Jacobite Earldom expired.¹

     Maria Margaretta de Yong was the daughter of Cornelius de Yong, Lord of Elmeet.¹ She married, firstly, Lt.-Gen. William North, 6th Baron North, son of Charles North, 5th Baron North and Catharine Grey, in October 1705.¹ She married, secondly, Patrick Murray, 5th Lord Elibank, son of Alexander Murray, 4th Lord Elibank and Elizabeth Stirling, in 1735.² She died on 6 June 1762.²
     From October 1705, her married name became North. From 1735, her married name became Murray.¹

     William Greyson was born illegitimately circa 1724.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Gen. William North, 6th Baron North.²

     Jane Lake is the daughter of W. Lake.¹ She married Roger North, son of Roger North and Mary Gayer.¹
     Her married name became North.¹

     W. Lake lived at Heacham, Norfolk, England^G.¹

     Sir John Marjoribanks, 1st Bt. was born on 13 January 1763.³ He was the son of Edward Marjoribanks and Grizel Stewart.⁴ He married Alison Ramsay, daughter of William Ramsay and Janet Mansfield, on 15 April 1791.³ He died on 5 February 1833 at age 70.³
     He was created 1st Baronet Marjoribanks, of Lees, co. Berwick [U.K.] on 6 May 1815.⁴
