     Sir Edward Richard George Heath was born on 9 July 1916 at Broadstairs, Kent, England.1 He was the son of William George Heath and Edith Anne Pantony.3 He died on 17 July 2005 at age 89 at Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.1
     He fought in the Second World War.1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1939 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He held the office of President of Oxford Union in 1939.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1946.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Bexley between 1950 and 1974.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1955.1 He held the office of Lord Privy Seal between 1960 and 1963.1 He held the office of President of the Board of Trade from 1963 to 1964.1 He held the office of Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury from 19 June 1970 to 4 March 1974.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Sidcup between 1974 and 1983.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1992.1
