Lt.-Col. William Nathaniel Stuart Alexander was born on 8 May 1874.1 He was the son of Nathaniel Stuart Alexander and Dora Currie.1 He married Kathleen Marguerite Hilliard, daughter of Lt.-Col. Harold Nash Hilliard, on 4 August 1914.1 He died on 7 March 1956 at age 81, without issue.1
He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Boer War.1 He fought in the First World War, he was twice mentioned in despatches.1 He was appointed Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915 and bar.1 He fought in the 3rd Afghan War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Connaught Rangers.1 He was the last Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, before the regiment was disbanded in 1922.1 He retired from the military in 1923.1

Major-Gen. Edward Currie Alexander was born on 15 September 1875.1 He was the son of Nathaniel Stuart Alexander and Dora Currie.1 He married Isabella Katherine Stoney, daughter of Major George Ormond Stoney and Meylia Laing, on 4 June 1914.1 He died on 21 March 1964 at age 88.1
He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned in 1895, in the service of the Dorset Regiment.1 He fought in the Tirah Expedition between 1897 and 1898.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1898 in the Indian Army.1 He fought in the Mahsud Waziri operations between 1901 and 1902, mentioned in despatches.1 He was appointed Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1902.1 He fought in the Mohmand Field Force in 1908.1 He fought in the First World War, as a General Staff Officer (G.S.O.)
