Somerset [E., 1661] on 10 November 1699.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Ashley of Wimborne St. Giles, co. Jane Ewer was the daughter of Thomas Ewer.1 She married Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 3rd Earl of Shaftesbury, son of Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 2nd Earl of Shaftesbury and Lady Dorothy Manners, on 29 August 1709.1 She died on 23 November 1751.1

Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 4th Earl of Shaftesbury was born on 9 February 1710/11.1 He was the son of Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 3rd Earl of Shaftesbury and Jane Ewer.1 He married, firstly, Lady Susan Noel, daughter of Baptist Noel, 3rd Earl of Gainsborough and Lady Dorothy Manners, on 12 March 1724.2 He married, secondly, Hon. Mary Bouverie, daughter of Jacob des Bouverie, 1st Viscount Folkestone and Mary Clarke, on 20 March 1759.1 He died on 27 May 1771 at age 60.1

Hon. Mary Bouverie was born in 1730.2 She was the daughter of Jacob des Bouverie, 1st Viscount Folkestone and Mary Clarke.1 She married Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 4th Earl of Shaftesbury, son of Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 3rd Earl of Shaftesbury and Jane Ewer, on 20 March 1759.3 She died on 12 November 1804.1
