     John Dalrymple of Dunragit was born in 1621.¹ He was the son of James Dalrymple of Stair and Drummurchie and Janet Kennedy.² He married Agnes Cathcart.¹
     In 1682 he acquired Dunragit.¹

     Agnes Cathcart married John Dalrymple of Dunragit, son of James Dalrymple of Stair and Drummurchie and Janet Kennedy.¹
     Her married name became Dalrymple.

     James Dalrymple of Dunragit is the son of John Dalrymple of Dunragit and Agnes Cathcart.² He married Margaret Blair of Dunskey.¹

     Margaret Blair of Dunskey was born circa 1672.¹ She married James Dalrymple of Dunragit, son of John Dalrymple of Dunragit and Agnes Cathcart.¹ She died on 24 April 1747.¹
     Her married name became Dalrymple.¹

     James Dalrymple of Dunragit was born on 18 October 1706.¹ He was the son of James Dalrymple of Dunragit and Margaret Blair of Dunskey.² He married Grace McDouall, daughter of Patrick McDouall of Dunragit, on 15 January 1740.¹ He died on 14 May 1776 at age 69.¹
     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He had three other daughters, who all died young.¹

     Grace McDouall is the daughter of Patrick McDouall of Dunragit.² She married James Dalrymple of Dunragit, son of James Dalrymple of Dunragit and Margaret Blair of Dunskey, on 15 January 1740.¹
     From 15 January 1740, her married name became Dalrymple.¹

     James Dalrymple was born in 1742.¹ He was the son of James Dalrymple of Dunragit and Grace McDouall.² He died on 15 June 1746.¹

     Grace Dalrymple was born in 1747.¹ She was the daughter of James Dalrymple of Dunragit and Grace McDouall.² She married Sir Alexander Gordon of Culvennan, son of William Gordon and Isabel McCulloch Gordon, on 17 July 1769.²
     From 17 July 1769, her married name became Gordon.¹
