     John Gorges was born circa 23 April 1593.2 He married Mary Meade, daughter of Sir John Meade.2 He married Frances Clinton, daughter of Thomas Clinton, 3rd Earl of Lincoln and Elizabeth Knyvett, on 30 July 1620 at Clerkenwell, London, England.2 He died on 6 April 1657 at Westminster, London, England.2
     He held the office of Governor of Plymouth, states New England, but more likely Plymouth, England.1,3
