     Sir Hugh Massy was born in 1748.¹ He was the son of John Massy and Mary Agnes Studdert.¹ He died on 11 September 1814, unmarried.¹
     He fought in the Battle of Bunker Hill, where he was severely wounded.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 35th Foot.¹ He fought in the Capture of Savannah.¹ He fought in the Battle of White Plains.¹ He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1808.¹
