     John McDouall married Lady Elizabeth Dalrymple, daughter of Colonel Hon. William Dalrymple of Glenmure and Penelope Crichton, Countess of Dumfries.¹

     Patrick MacDowall-Crichton, 6th Earl of Dumfries was born on 15 October 1726.³ He was the son of John McDouall and Lady Elizabeth Dalrymple.¹ He married Margaret Crauford, daughter of Ronald Crauford, on 12 September 1771.³ He died on 7 April 1803 at age 76.³
     He gained the rank of Officer in 1762 in the 3rd Foot Guards.³ He succeeded as the 6th Lord of Sanquhar [S., 1622] on 27 July 1768.¹ He succeeded as the 13th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar [S., 1488] on 27 July 1768.³ He succeeded as the 6th Viscount of Air [S., 1633] on 27 July 1768.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Dumfries [S., 1633] on 27 July 1768.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Viscount of Air [S., 1622] on 27 July 1768.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Lord Crichton of Sanquhar and Cumnock [S., 1633] on 27 July 1768.¹ He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1790 and 1803.³

     Margaret Crauford was the daughter of Ronald Crauford.² She married Patrick MacDowall-Crichton, 6th Earl of Dumfries, son of John McDouall and Lady Elizabeth Dalrymple, on 12 September 1771.² She died on 5 May 1799.²
     From 12 September 1771, her married name became MacDowall-Crichton.

     John Stuart, Viscount Mount Stuart was born on 25 September 1767 at Grosvenor Square, Mayfair, London, England^G.³ He was the son of John Stuart, 1st Marquess of the County of Bute and Hon. Charlotte Jane Windsor.¹ He married Lady Elizabeth Penelope MacDowall-Crichton, daughter of Patrick MacDowall-Crichton, 6th Earl of Dumfries and Margaret Crauford, on 12 October 1792 at Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.^4,5 He died on 22 January 1794 at age 26 at Bassingbourn Hall, England^G, from a fall from his horse.^1,5 He was buried at Stanton Rivers, Essex, England^G.⁵ He died intestate and his estate was administered in February 1794.⁵
     He was educated between 1775 and 1779 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.³ He matriculated at St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, on 27 May 1784.³ He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1787 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Cardiff between 1790 and 1794.¹ He was styled as Viscount Mount Stuart between 1792 and 1794, incorrectly.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Glamorganshire between 1793 and 1794.¹

     Lady Elizabeth Penelope MacDowall-Crichton was born on 25 November 1772 at Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.² She was the daughter of Patrick MacDowall-Crichton, 6th Earl of Dumfries and Margaret Crauford.¹ She married John Stuart, Viscount Mount Stuart, son of John Stuart, 1st Marquess of the County of Bute and Hon. Charlotte Jane Windsor, on 12 October 1792 at Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.^3,2 She died on 25 July 1797 at age 24 at Southampton, Hampshire, England^G.² She was buried on 16 August 1797 at Cumnock, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.²
     From 12 October 1792, her married name became Stuart.

     Lady Elizabeth Campbell was born after 1718. She was the daughter of Field Marshal John Campbell, 2nd Duke of Argyll and Jane Warburton.¹ She married Rt. Hon. James Stuart-Mackenzie, son of James Stuart, 2nd Earl of Bute and Lady Anne Campbell, on 16 February 1749.¹ She died on 16 July 1799.¹
     Her married name became Stuart.

     Rt. Hon. James Stuart-Mackenzie was born after 1714. He was the son of James Stuart, 2nd Earl of Bute and Lady Anne Campbell.¹ He married Lady Elizabeth Campbell, daughter of Field Marshal John Campbell, 2nd Duke of Argyll and Jane Warburton, on 16 February 1749.¹ He died circa April 1800, without surviving issue.¹
     He was given the name of John Stuart at birth.¹ His name was legally changed to John Stuart-Mackenzie.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) between 1742 and 1784.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)¹ He held the office of Keeper of the Privy Seal [Scotland] in 1763.¹ On 4 March 1803 the succession of his estates was decided in favour of Hon. James Archibald Stuart-Wortley.¹

     Thomas Arundell, 2nd Baron Arundell of Wardour was born circa 1586.¹ He was the son of Thomas Arundell, 1st Baron Arundell of Wardour and Mary Wriothesley.¹ A settlement for the marriage between him and Lady Blanche Somerset was made on 11 May 1607.¹ He died on 19 May 1643 at Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, from wounds received in action.¹ He was buried at Tisbury, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 27 November 1648.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Arundell of Wardour, co. Wiltshire [E., 1605] on 7 November 1639.¹ He was a devoted Royalist, and raised a Regiment of Horse for the King.¹ His last will was dated from 7 January 1641/42 to 14 May 1643. He fought in the Battle of Stratton on 16 May 1643, where he was mortally wounded.¹

     Agnes Mackenzie was born on 2 January 1663.² She was the daughter of Sir George Mackenzie of Rosehaugh and Elizabeth Dickson.^1,2 She married James Stuart, 1st Earl of Bute, son of Sir Dugald Stuart of Ardmaleish, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Ruthven, circa 24 July 1680.¹ She died circa July 1696.² She was buried on 26 July 1696 at Greyfriars, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.²
     From circa 24 July 1680, her married name became Stuart.
