He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Lismore of Shanbally, co. Tipperary [I., 1785] on 12 July 1797.1 He was created 1st Viscount Lismore, of Shanbally, co. Tipperary [Ireland] on 30 May 1806.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1835.1 He was created 1st Baron Lismore of Shanbally Castle, co. Tipperary [U.K.] on 6 July 1838.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Tipperary between 1851 and 1857.1
