     Mary Leahy was the daughter of John Leahy.1 She married Most Rev. Rt. Hon. Samuel Butcher, son of Vice-Admiral Samuel Butcher and Elizabeth Anne Herbert, on 23 November 1847.1 She died on 9 June 1886.1
     From 23 November 1847, her married name became Butcher.1

     Vice-Admiral Samuel Butcher was born on 30 October 1770.1 He was the son of Thomas Butcher and Elizabeth Ives.1 He married Elizabeth Anne Herbert, daughter of R. T. Herbert, on 4 February 1806.1 He died on 8 May 1849 at age 78.1
     He fought in the Glorious First on 1 June 1794, under Lord Howe.1 He fought in the Battle of Puerto Rico in 1801.1 He gained the rank of Post Captain in 1802.1 He fought in the Battle of the Scheldt in 1813.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1837.1 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1847.1 He lived at Danesfort, County Kerry, IrelandG.1
