Henry Matthew Philipson Philipson-Stow was born on 11 September 1880.2 He is the son of Sir Frederic Samuel Philipson Philipson-Stow, 1st Bt. and Florence Henchman Hewitt.1,2 He married Elizabeth Willes Chitty, daughter of Sir Thomas Willes Chitty, 1st Bt. and Emily Eliza Newbolt, on 31 August 1918.1 He died on 15 September 1953 at age 73.2
He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Freiburg University of Mining and Technology, Freiburg, Sachsen, Germany.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.2 He graduated from Columbia University, Manhattan, New York City, New York, U.S.A.G, with a Engineering Diploma.2

Sir Frederic Samuel Philipson Philipson-Stow, 1st Bt. was born on 28 September 1849.2 He is the son of Frederic Stow and Fanny Sanders.2 He married Florence Henchman Hewitt, daughter of Henry Hewitt, on 22 December 1874.2 He died on 17 May 1908 at age 58.2
He was given the name of Frederic Samuel Stow at birth.2 On 28 February 1891 his name was legally changed to Frederic Samuel Philipson-Stow by royal licence.2 He was created 1st Baronet Philipson-Stow, of Lodsworth, Sussex [U.K.] on 26 July 1907.2 He lived at Blackdown House, Lodsworth, Sussex, England.2 He lived at Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.2
