Sir Thomas Willes Chitty, 1st Bt. was born on 24 June 1855.1 He was the son of Thomas Edward Chitty and Mary Ann Willes.2,1 He married, firstly, Emily Eliza Newbolt, daughter of Reverend H. F. Newbolt, on 21 December 1888.1 He married, secondly, Beatrice Maud Hale, daughter of Reverend Edward Hale, on 1 September 1904.1 He died on 15 February 1930 at age 74.1
He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1877 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was managing editor of Lord Halsbury's Laws of England.1 He was editor-in-chief of the English and Empire Digest.1 He held the office of Master of the Supreme Court between 1901 and 1920.1 He was appointed Knight in 1919.1 He was created 1st Baronet Chitty, of the Temple [U.K.] on 25 January 1924.1 He held the office of Bencher of the Inner Temple in 1925.1 He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.) in 1927.1

Reverend John Heighway Chitty was born on 19 September 1898.1 He was the son of Reverend James Charles Martin Chitty and Gwen Ethlin Georgiana Jones.2,1 He married Phyllis Margaret Stevens, daughter of H. G. Stevens, on 14 February 1927.1 He died on 18 August 1977 at age 78.1
