Sir Griffith Williams, 1st Bt. was the son of Robert Williams and Elizabeth verch Gruffudd.2 He married Gwen Bodwrda, daughter of Hugh Gwyn Bodwrda, before 1627.3 He died from 3 September 1663 to 3 December 1663.3
He held the office of High Sheriff of Caernarvonshire in 1651.3 He was created 1st Baronet Williams, of Penrhyn, co. Caernarvon [England] on 28 May 1658, during the Interregnum.3 He lived at Penrhyn, Caernarvonshire, Wales.3 He was created 1st Baronet Williams, of Penrhyn, co. Caernarvon [England] on 17 June 1661. Gwen Bodwrda was the daughter of Hugh Gwyn Bodwrda.1 She married Sir Griffith Williams, 1st Bt., son of Robert Williams and Elizabeth verch Gruffudd, before 1627.2 She died circa 9 November 1674.2 She was buried on 12 November 1674.2
