Lt.-Col. Sir Walter Raymond Burrell, 8th Bt. was born on 11 December 1903.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Merrik Raymond Burrell, 7th Bt. and Wilhelmina Louisa Winans.1 He married Hon. Anne Judith Denman, daughter of Thomas Denman, 3rd Baron Denman of Dovedale and Hon. Gertrude Mary Pearson, on 6 August 1931.1 He died on 4 May 1985 at age 81.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Sussex in 1937.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1938 in the 98 Fd Regiment (Surrey and Sussex Yeomanry), Royal Artillery (Territorial Army.) Sir Merrik Raymond Burrell, 7th Bt. and Wilhelmina Louisa Winans.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Edyth Pamela Pollen, daughter of Lt.-Col. Stephen Hungerford Pollen and Catherine Hetherington Muir, on 26 July 1929.2 He and Margaret Edyth Pamela Pollen were divorced in 1940.2 He married, secondly, Constance Prosser McCaulley on 1 July 1971.2 He died on 31 July 1999 at age 94.2
