He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1755 with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)3 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1760.3 He held the office of Chancellor of Worcester in 1764.3 He held the office of Chancellor of Rochester.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haslemere between 1768 and 1774.4 He held the office of Commissioner of Excise between 1771 and 1787.3 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)3 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)4 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Raymond, of Valentine House, co. Essex [G.B., 1774] on 6 April 1787.1 In August 1787 he was partially paralysed.3
