     Margaret Sophia Swinton was the daughter of Archibald Henry Swinton.¹ She married John Buchan Buchan-Hepburn, son of Sir John Buchan-Hepburn of Smeaton Hepburn, 2nd Bt. and Mary Turner Hog, on 31 May 1837.¹ She died on 13 February 1873.¹
     From 31 May 1837, her married name became Buchan-Hepburn.¹

     Captain John Buchan-Hepburn was born on 30 April 1840.¹ He was the son of John Buchan Buchan-Hepburn and Margaret Sophia Swinton.¹ He married Mary Caroline Margaret Fischer, daughter of General John Fischer, in 1888.¹ He died on 18 July 1898 at age 58, leaving:.¹
