Lewis Pryce Delves Broughton was born on 10 May 1836.1 He was the son of Reverend Thomas Delves Broughton and Frances Corkran.1 He married Mary Elizabeth Randall Turner, daughter of General Sir Frank Turner, on 26 December 1867.1 He died on 3 January 1902 at age 65.1
He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He held the office of Puisne Judge of the High Court Judicature [Calcutta] between 1878 and 1882.1 He held the office of Administrator-General of Bengal.1
