     Hon. Elizabeth Southwell was born on 11 January 1776.2 She was the daughter of Edward Southwell, 20th Lord Clifford and Sophia Campbell.1,2 She married William Charles Keppel, 4th Earl of Albemarle, son of General George Keppel, 3rd Earl of Albemarle and Anne Miller, on 9 April 1792 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 14 November 1817 at age 41 at Mr. Coke's house, Holkham, Norfolk, EnglandG, in child birth.2 She was buried at Quidenham, Norfolk, EnglandG.2 She died intestate and her estate was administered in November 1832.1
     From 9 April 1792, her married name became Keppel. After her marriage, Hon. Elizabeth Southwell was styled as Countess of Albemarle on 9 April 1792.

Augustus Frederick Keppel, 5th Earl of Albemarle1

     Augustus Frederick Keppel, 5th Earl of Albemarle was born on 2 June 1794.1 He was the son of William Charles Keppel, 4th Earl of Albemarle and Hon. Elizabeth Southwell.1 He married Frances Steer, daughter of Charles Steer and Mary Wood, on 4 May 1816, by special licence.1 He died on 15 March 1851 at age 56, without issue.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered in March 1860.1
     He gained the rank of officer in the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo on 18 June 1815.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Arundel between 1820 and 1826.1 He suffered from insanity before 23 July 1849.2 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Albemarle [E., 1697] on 30 October 1849.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Ashford, of Ashford, Kent [E., 1697] on 30 October 1849. He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Bury, co. Lancaster [E., 1697] on 30 October 1849.

     Frances Steer was the daughter of Charles Steer and Mary Wood.1 She married, firstly, Augustus Frederick Keppel, 5th Earl of Albemarle, son of William Charles Keppel, 4th Earl of Albemarle and Hon. Elizabeth Southwell, on 4 May 1816, by special licence.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Hon. Peregrine Francis Cust, son of Brownlow Cust, 1st Baron Brownlow of Belton and Frances Bankes, on 20 August 1860 at Ashbridge, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1 She died on 16 May 1869, without issue.1 Her will was proven (by probate) on 30 June 1869, at under £30,000.1
     From 4 May 1816, her married name became Keppel. After her marriage, Frances Steer was styled as Countess of Albemarle on 30 October 1849. From 20 August 1860, her married name became Cust.
