He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the Photographic Interpreation, Royal Flying Corps.4 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches three times.4 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Chatham between 1918 and 1929.4 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1919 and 1921, to Secretary of State for Air.4 He held the office of Parliamentary Secretary for Transport between 1923 and 1927.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wallasey between 1931 and 1942.4 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1940.4 He held the office of Minister of Transport from 1940 to 1941.4 He held the office of Minister of Aircraft Production from 1941 to 1942.4 He was created 1st Baron Brabazon of Tara, of Sandwich, co. Kent [U.K.] on 27 April 1942.1 He was a director of EMI.4 He was a director of Thomas Tilling.4 He was a director of David Brown Corporation.4 He was a director of Kodak.4 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1953.4 He wrote the book The Brabazon Story, published 1956.4 He graduated from St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, ScotlandG, in 1959 with a Honorary Doctor of Law (LL.D.)4 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.5

John Arthur Henry Moore-Brabazon was born on 13 June 1828.2 He was the son of Major John Arthur Moore and Sophia Stewart Yates.2 He married Emma Sophia Richards, daughter of Alfred Richards, in February 1879. He died on 11 January 1908 at age 79.2
He was given the name of John Arthur Henry Moore at birth.2 He was educated at Addiscombe Military Academy, Addiscombe, Surrey, England.2 In 1866 his name was legally changed to John Arthur Henry Moore-Brabazon.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Bengal Staff Corps.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Louth in 1872.2 He gained the rank of Honory Lieutenant-Colonel.2 He lived at Tara House, County Meath, IrelandG.1 He lived at Tallyallen, County Louth, IrelandG.1
