     Stanley Borrie was born on 20 November 1890 at Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, North Riding, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of Albert Borrie and Beatrice Amelia Gertrude Johnson.1 He married Alice Forsyth, daughter of John Forsyth and Mary Ann Irvine, on 23 October 1919 at Croydon, London, EnglandG.2 He died on 21 September 1958 at age 67 at Croydon, London, EnglandG.1,2
     He was educated at Coatham School, Coatham, EnglandG.1 He was a solicitor, with Albert Borrie & Sons in 1912.1 He fought in the First World War, as a dispatch rider with the Artists Rifles.1 He was a director of Jordans (legal publishers.)1 He was a director of Hazell, Watson & Viney.1 He wrote the book Company Law.1

     Sir William Borthwick, 1st of Borthwick was born before 1368. He died before 1430.1
     He held the office of Scottish Ambassador to England between 1398 and 1415.1 In 1410 he was granted a charter for the lands of Borthwick, Selkirkshire, by the Regent Albany.1 He was a commissioner to treat for the King's relaease in 1423.1 Between 1424 and 1427 he was a substitute hostage for King James I.1

     Beatrice Sinclair was the daughter of Henry Sinclair, 1st Earl of Orkney and Jane Halyburton.1 She and Sir William Borthwick, 2nd of Borthwick obtained a marriage license on 1 May 1411.1
     From 1 May 1411, her married name became Borthwick.1

Janet Borthwick1

     Janet Borthwick was the daughter of Sir William Borthwick, 2nd of Borthwick and Beatrice Sinclair.1 She married, secondly, George Crichton, 1st and last Earl of Caithness, son of Sir Stephen Crichton of Cairns and unknown daughter Cairns.2 She married, firstly, Sir James Douglas, 1st Lord of Dalkeith, son of Sir James Douglas of Dalkeith and Lady Agnes Dunbar, from 1411 to October 1439.2 She died after 5 June 1464.3
     Her married name became Crichton.2 From before October 1439, her married name became Douglas.2
