Ethel Emily Burnett was the daughter of Sir David Burnett, 1st Bt. and Emily Sleap.1 She married Bernard Beresford Baddeley, son of Sir John James Baddeley, 1st Bt. and Mary Elizabeth Locks, on 31 July 1900.1 She died on 9 June 1955.1

Sir David Burnett, 1st Bt. was born on 22 August 1851.2 He was the son of David Burnett. He married Emily Sleap, daughter of Thomas Sleap, on 28 August 1875.2 He died on 7 July 1930 at age 78.2
He held the office of Sheriff of London between 1907 and 1908.3 He was appointed Knight in 1908.2 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 1st City of London Royal Field Artillery (Territorial Forces.)2 He held the office of Lord Mayor of London between 1912 and 1913, when he bought Crystal Palace for the nation.2 He was created 1st Baronet Burnett, of Selborne House, in the Borough of Croydon [U.K.] on 17 October 1913.2 He was awarded the Grand Officier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Crown of Belgium.2
