     Sir John Arnott, 1st Bt. was born on 26 July 1814.¹ He was the son of John Arnott and Elizabeth Paton.¹ He married, firstly, Mary McKinlay, daughter of John James McKinlay, on 20 January 1852.¹ He married, secondly, Emily Jane Fitzgerald, daughter of Reverend Edward Loftus Fitzgerald, on 7 November 1872.¹ He died on 28 March 1898 at age 83.¹
     He held the office of Mayor of Cork between 1859 and 1861.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Kinsale between 1859 and 1863.¹ He was a philanthropist and promoter of industry.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the City and County Cork.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Arnott, of Woodlands, Shandon, co. Cork [U.K.] on 12 February 1896.¹

     John Arnott was born circa 1787.¹ He was the son of Robert Arnott and Janet Page.¹ He married, firstly, Elizabeth Paton, daughter of Alexander Paton.¹ He married, secondly, Ellen Leyburn.¹ He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Nichol before 1851.¹ He died on 16 September 1878.¹
     He lived at Auchtermuchty, Fife, Scotland^G.¹
     He had an elder and a younger son, as well as two daughters.¹

     Robert Arnott married Janet Page, daughter of James Page, on 16 September 1785.¹ He died after 1800.¹
