Sir George Ayscough Armytage, 7th Bt. was born on 2 March 1872.2 He was the son of Sir George John Armytage, 6th Bt. and Ellen Fawkes.1 He married Aimée Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington, daughter of Sir Lionel Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington, 11th Bt. and Isabella Elizabeth Georgiana Kinleside, on 12 July 1899.2 He died on 15 August 1953 at age 81.
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding, Yorkshire.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches four times.2 He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in 1916.2 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the Infantry Brigade.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the King's Royal Rifle Corps.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.2 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.2 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in Hartshead], co.      Sir Lionel Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington, 11th Bt. was born on 7 July 1835.2 He was the son of Sir William Pilkington, 8th Bt. and Mary Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington.2 He married Isabella Elizabeth Georgiana Kinleside, daughter of Reverend Charles Gradwicke Raikes Kinleside and Elizabeth Charlotte Jemima Brydges, on 3 February 1857.2 He died on 25 June 1901 at age 65.2
     He was given the name of Lionel Pilkington at birth.2 He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Yorkshire.2 He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Pilkington, of Stanley, near Wakefield and Nether Bradley, also co. Yorks [N.S., 1635] on 12 November 1855.1 He gained the rank of Cornet in the 1st West Yorkshire Yeomanry Cavalry.2 On 15 February 1856 his name was legally changed to Lionel Milborne-Swinnerton by Royal Licence.2 After March 1856 his name was legally changed to Lionel Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1859.2

Sir George Ayscough Armytage, 7th Bt. and Aimée Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington.1 He married, firstly, Evelyn Mary Jessamine Fox, daughter of Edward Herbert Fox and Alice Marion Arbuthnot, on 7 June 1927.1 He and Evelyn Mary Jessamine Fox were divorced in 1946.2 He married, secondly, Maria Margarete Tenhaeff, daughter of Paul Hugo Tenhaeff, on 8 November 1949.1 He died on 21 June 1983 at age 81.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the King's Royal Rifle Corps.1 He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in Hartshead], co. John Jacob Astor, 1st Baron Astor of Hever was born on 20 May 1886.3 He was the son of William Waldorf Astor, 1st Viscount Astor and Mary Dahlgren Paul.1 He married Lady Violet Mary Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, daughter of Gilbert John Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 4th Earl of Minto and Lady Mary Caroline Grey, on 28 August 1916.3 He died on 19 July 1971 at age 85.3
