Sir George Armytage, 5th Bt. was born on 3 May 1819 at 72 Pulteney Street, Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He was the son of John Armytage and Mary Assheton.1 He was baptised on 27 April 1820 at Hartshead, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He married Eliza Matilda Mary Radcliffe, daughter of Sir Joseph Radcliffe, 2nd Bt. and Jacobina Maria Macdonnell, on 1 June 1841 at Spofford, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He died on 9 March 1899 at age 79 at Kirklees Hall, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate), at £190,245 gross and £124,600 net.1
He was educated in 1833 at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in Hartshead], co. York [G.B., 1738] on 14 July 1836.1 He matriculated at Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 1 March 1837.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Yorkshire.2

Sir Joseph Radcliffe, 2nd Bt. was born on 5 June 1799.2 He was the son of Reverend Joseph Pickford Radcliffe and Mary Grant.3 He married Jacobina Maria Macdonnell, daughter of General John Æneas Macdonnell, 5th of Leek and Helen Leslie of Fetternear, on 29 October 1819.2 He died on 29 November 1872 at age 73.2
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Radcliffe, of Milnesbridge House, Yorkshire [U.K., 1813] on 19 February 1819.2 They had another son who died young and four other daugters who died unmarried.2

Jacobina Maria Macdonnell is the daughter of General John Æneas Macdonnell, 5th of Leek and Helen Leslie of Fetternear.1,2 She married Sir Joseph Radcliffe, 2nd Bt., son of Reverend Joseph Pickford Radcliffe and Mary Grant, on 29 October 1819.3 She died on 10 May 1868.3

General John Æneas Macdonnell, 5th of Leek was born in 1722.2 He was the son of Angus Macdonald, 4th of Leek and Mary Macdonald.3 He married Helen Leslie of Fetternear.4 He died in 1813 at Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England.4
He was also known as John Macdonald.4 He fought in the Jacobite Uprising in 1745.4 He fought in the Battle of Culloden in 1746, where he was wounded.4 He gained the rank of commander in the Fraser's Highlanders.4 He fought in the Capture of Quebec in 1759.4 He was commander of the Veteran Corps in Newfoundland.4 He fought in the American War.4
