Elizabeth Rose Thornhill was the daughter of Thomas Thornhill.1 She married Rev. Hon. William Henry Spencer, son of Francis Almeric Spencer, 1st Baron Churchill of Whichwood and Lady Frances FitzRoy, on 23 January 1838.1 She died on 25 March 1851.1

Captain William Francis Spencer was born on 10 October 1838.1 He was the son of Rev. Hon. William Henry Spencer and Elizabeth Rose Thornhill.1 He married Margaret Georgiana Hemming, daughter of Walter Hemming, on 17 January 1874.1 He died on 3 July 1923 at age 84.1

Colonel John Almeric Walter Spencer was born on 21 July 1881.1 He was the son of Captain William Francis Spencer and Margaret Georgiana Hemming.1 He married Eleanor Georgiana Peel, daughter of William Peel, on 7 August 1913.1 He died on 12 February 1952 at age 70.1
He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Legion of Honour French.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He gained the rank of commanding offer between 1931 and 1935 in the 163rd Infantry Brigade (Territorial Army.)1 He gained the rank of honorary Brigidier-General in 1935.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Rifle Brigade.1
