     Major Gilbert Byng Alwyne Russell was born on 1 June 1875.1 He was the son of Lord Arthur John Edward Russell and Laura de Peyronnet.1 He married Maud Nelke, daughter of Paul Nelke, on 14 March 1917.1 He died on 28 May 1942 at age 66.1
     He fought in the Egyptian Campaign in 1898, including Khartoum.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Grenadier Guards.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Bedfordshire Yeomanry.1

     Martin Basil Paul Russell was born on 12 June 1918.1 He was the son of Major Gilbert Byng Alwyne Russell and Maud Nelke.1 He married Annie Swinton Lee, daughter of Brigadier Stanlake Swinton Lee, on 14 May 1954.1 He died in 2004 at Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Assistant Private Secretary to the Minister of Information between 1940 and 1941.1 He held the office of Private Secretary to the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster between 1941 and 1942.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1943 in the General Staff.1 He was with the British South Africa Company between 1954 and 1961.1 He was with Minerals Separation between 1961 and 1963.1 He was with the Ionian Bank between 1964 and 1966.1 He was founder of MBP Russell & Comapny Ltd in 1967.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Astronomical Society (F.R.A.S.)1 He wrote the book The Art of George Keyt.1 He lived at Dungrove Farm House, Tarrant Gunville, Blandford, Dorset, EnglandG.1

     Annie Swinton Lee was born on 13 June 1924 at Aspatrick, Cumberland, England.2 She was the daughter of Brigadier Stanlake Swinton Lee.1 She married Martin Basil Paul Russell, son of Major Gilbert Byng Alwyne Russell and Maud Nelke, on 14 May 1954.1 She died on 25 November 2013 at age 89.2
     She fought in the Second World War between 1944 and 1946, in the French Army.1 She was awarded the Croix de Guerre.1 Her married name became Russell.
