Major Sir Edward Christian Goschen, 3rd Bt. was born on 2 September 1913.2 He was the son of Sir Edward Henry Goschen, 2nd Bt. and Mary Danneskjold-Samsöe.2 He married Cynthia Cadogan, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Alexander George Montagu Cadogan and Lady Theodosia Louisa Augusta Acheson, on 6 December 1946.2 He died on 8 March 2001 at age 87.3

He was the son of Sir John Lowther Johnstone of Westerhall, 6th Bt. and Charlotte Gordon.2 He married Lady Louisa Elizabeth Frederica Craven, daughter of General William Craven, 1st Earl of Craven and Louisa Brunton, on 24 October 1840.1 He died on 7 May 1841 at age 30.1
