     Charles Alexander Nall-Cain, 1st Baron Brocket was born on 29 May 1866.¹ He was the son of Robert Cain and Anne Newall.¹ He married, firstly, Florence Nall, daughter of William Nall and Ann Peet, on 13 September 1888.¹ He married, secondly, Anne Page Croft, daughter of Richard Benyon Croft and Anne Elizabeth Page, on 27 October 1928.¹ He died on 21 November 1934 at age 68 at Brocket Hall, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹ He was buried on 24 November 1934 at St. John's Church, Lemsford, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹
     He was given the name of Charles Alexander Cain at birth.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Hertfordshire.² He was chairman of Peter Walker (Warrington) and Robert Cain and Sons Ltd.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Nall-Cain, of Brocket Hall, co. Hertford [U.K.] on 1 July 1921.¹ On 14 July 1921 his name was legally changed to Charles Alexander Nall-Cain by Deed Poll.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Hertfordshire in 1925.¹ He was appointed Knight of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.G.St.J.)¹ He was created 1st Baron Brocket, of Brocket Hall, co. Hertford [U.K.] on 19 January 1933.¹
     His Times obituary described him as 'a fine sportsman... he was the perfect example of a British landlord, and helped many of his tenants in the recent bad times ... No one will ever guess the immense extent on his charity, although all Liverpool knows how much he did for the great hospitals of that city and in the provision of field ambulances in the War.¹'

     Florence Nall was the daughter of William Nall and Ann Peet.^1,2 She married Charles Alexander Nall-Cain, 1st Baron Brocket, son of Robert Cain and Anne Newall, on 13 September 1888.¹ She died on 21 October 1927.^1,3
     Her married name became Cain.

     William Nall was born on 8 May 1816.² He is the son of Joseph Nall and Elizabeth Etchells.³ He married Ann Peet on 4 April 1850.² He died on 16 August 1883 at age 67.²

     Major Robery Mervyn Richardson was the son of James Richardson.² He married Helen Charlotte Croft, daughter of Richard Benyon Croft and Anne Elizabeth Page, on 5 May 1898.¹ He died on 6 March 1917.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the 14th Hussars.¹

     William Frank Gardiner Baird was born on 18 April 1885.¹ He was the son of Sir William James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 8th Bt. and Hon. Arabella Rose Evelyn Hozier.^2,1 He married Violet Mary Croft, daughter of Richard Benyon Croft and Anne Elizabeth Page, on 24 November 1910.¹ He died on 5 November 1914 at age 29, from wounds received in action.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Scots Guards.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 7th Dragoon Guards.¹ He fought in the First World War. He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment.¹

     Sir William James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 8th Bt. was born on 23 February 1854.¹ He was the son of Sir James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 7th Bt. and Henrietta Mary Wauchope.¹ He married Hon. Arabella Rose Evelyn Hozier, daughter of William Wallace Hozier, 1st Baron Newlands and Frances Anne O'Hara, on 3 April 1879.¹ He died on 19 April 1921 at age 67.²
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 7th Hussars.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Lothian and Berwick Yeomanry Cavalry.¹ He was Commissioner of Supply, Midlothian.² He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Baird, of Saughton Hall, co. Edinburgh [N.S., 1696] on 6 January 1896.¹

     Meryl Abel-Smith was born on 25 November 1985 at Paris, France.^1,3 She is the daughter of Christopher Abel Smith and Catherine Berger.¹

     Reverend Thomas Denman Croft was born on 2 March 1845.¹ He was the son of Reverend Richard Croft and Charlotte Leonora Russell.¹ He married Eleanor Fraser Tomlinson, daughter of Reverend George Tomlinson and Eleanor Jane Mackenzie-Fraser, on 6 May 1891.¹ He died on 21 June 1913 at age 68.¹
