     William Gordon Rich was born on 28 February 1829.¹ He was the son of Reverend John Rich and Georgiana Gordon.¹ He married Maria Stewart Maitland, daughter of Joseph Maitland, on 21 February 1856.¹ He died on 5 July 1912 at age 83.¹
     He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He emigrated to New Zealand arriving on 1855.¹

     Maria Stewart Maitland was the daughter of Joseph Maitland.¹ She married William Gordon Rich, son of Reverend John Rich and Georgiana Gordon, on 21 February 1856.¹ She died on 8 November 1914.¹
     From 21 February 1856, her married name became Rich.¹

     Edwin William Gordon Rich was born on 7 December 1856.¹ He was the son of William Gordon Rich and Maria Stewart Maitland.¹ He married Margaret Kingsford, daughter of Cottenham Kingsford, in January 1897.¹ He died in 1910.¹

     Margaret Kingsford was the daughter of Cottenham Kingsford.¹ She married Edwin William Gordon Rich, son of William Gordon Rich and Maria Stewart Maitland, in January 1897.¹ She died on 15 August 1952.¹
     From January 1897, her married name became Rich.¹

     Major William Gordon Rich was born in December 1897.¹ He was the son of Edwin William Gordon Rich and Margaret Kingsford.¹ He married Henrietta Dorothy Tyacke, daughter of Henry Donate Tyacke, in 1931.¹ He married, secondly, Rhona Elizabeth Lyons, daughter of Thomas Lyons, on 28 July 1958.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force.¹ He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)¹ He graduated with a Bachelor of Surgery (Ch.B.)¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the New Zealand M.C.¹ He was Commissioner of St. John Ambulance Brigade between 1954 and 1960.¹

     Henrietta Dorothy Tyacke is the daughter of Henry Donate Tyacke.¹ She married Major William Gordon Rich, son of Edwin William Gordon Rich and Margaret Kingsford, in 1931.¹
     From 1931, her married name became Rich.¹

     Henry Donate Tyacke lived at County Westmeath, Ireland.¹

     Urquhart David Gordon Rich was born in 1936.¹ He is the son of Major William Gordon Rich and Henrietta Dorothy Tyacke.¹ He married Gillian Annesley Bishop on 26 September 1959.¹
     He was a practising solicitor.¹
