Sir Hamilton William Kerr, 1st Bt. was born on 1 August 1903.1 He was the son of Henry Scanlon Kerr and Olive Agnes Grace.1 He died on 26 December 1974 at age 71.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Oldham between 1931 and 1945.1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1933 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in 1941 in the Auxiliary Air Force.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cambridge between 1950 and 1966.1 He was created 1st Baronet Kerr, of Cambridge, co. Cambridge [U.K.] on 23 July 1957.1 On his death his baronetcy became extinct.2
