     Captain George Dartmouth Fitzroy was born on 22 May 1832.1 He was the son of Captain William Simon Houghton Fitzroy and Anne Philip Bagge.1 He married Caroline Catherine Macpherson, daughter of Colonel Ewan Macpherson of Cluny Macpherson, 14th Chief and Sarah Justina Davidson, on 11 January 1866.1 He died on 7 December 1890 at age 58.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1

     Caroline Catherine Macpherson was the daughter of Colonel Ewan Macpherson of Cluny Macpherson, 14th Chief and Sarah Justina Davidson.1,2 She married Captain George Dartmouth Fitzroy, son of Captain William Simon Houghton Fitzroy and Anne Philip Bagge, on 11 January 1866.2 She died on 8 November 1928.2
     Her married name became Fitzroy.

     Colonel Ewan Macpherson of Cluny Macpherson, 14th Chief was born on 24 April 1804.1 He is the son of Lt.-Col. Duncan Macpherson of Cluny Macpherson, 13th Chief and Catherine Cameron.2 He married Sarah Justina Davidson, daughter of Henry Davidson of Tulloch and Caroline Elizabeth Diffel, on 20 December 1832.1 He died on 11 January 1885 at age 80.1
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Inverness-shire.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Inverness-shire.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court in 1873.1 He lived at Cluny Castle, Inverness-shire, ScotlandG.1
