     Sophie Mary Trafford was born on 10 February 1916.1 She was the daughter of Major Sigismund William Joseph Trafford and Lady Elizabeth Constance Mary Bertie.1 She married Captain Charles Antony Lyell, 2nd Baron Lyell, V.C., son of Major Hon. Charles Henry Lyell and Rosalind Margaret Watney, on 4 July 1938.1 She died on 10 June 2012 at age 96.2
     After her marriage, Sophie Mary Trafford was styled as Baroness Lyell on 4 July 1938. From 4 July 1938, her married name became Lyell. She held the office of Member of the Angus County Council between 1943 and 1968.3 She lived in 2003 at Kinnordy House, Kirriemuir, Angus, ScotlandG.1

     Captain Guy Dalrymple Fanshawe was baptised on 1 May 1882 at Mawnan, Cornwall, England.3 He was the son of Admiral of the Fleet Sir Arthur Dalrymple Fanshawe and Sarah Frances Fox.4 He married Louisa Charlotte Crichton, daughter of Colonel Hon. Sir Henry George Louis Crichton and Letitia Grace Cole-Hamilton, on 16 August 1910.1 He died on 19 June 1962 at age 80.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He lived at Dalveagh, Aberfoyle, Perthshire, ScotlandG.4

Charles Henry Lyell and Rosalind Margaret Watney.2 He married Sophie Mary Trafford, daughter of Major Sigismund William Joseph Trafford and Lady Elizabeth Constance Mary Bertie, on 4 July 1938.2 He died on 27 April 1943 at age 29 at TunisiaG, killed in action.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Lyell, of Kinnordy, co. Forfar [U.K., 1894] on 18 September 1926.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Lyell, of Kinnordy, co. Forfar [U.K., 1914] on 18 September 1926.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Scots Guards.1 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 12 August 1943 posthumously, for his actions on 27 April 1943.3
