Sir George Samuel Brooke-Pechell, 5th Bt. was born on 10 May 1819.1 He was the son of Captain Samuel George Pechell and Caroline Thoyts.2 He married May Robertson Bremner, daughter of Colonel William Bremner and Georgina Huntly Robertson, on 11 October 1842.1 He died on 8 July 1897 at age 78.2
He was given the name of George Samuel Pechell at birth.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 47th Regiment.1 In 1860 his name was legally changed to George Samuel Brooke-Pechell.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Pechell, of Paglesham, co. Essex [G.B., 1797] on 29 June 1860.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, Hampshire regiment.1

Mabel Marion Briggs is the daughter of Maj.-Gen. George Briggs.1 She married Lt.-Col. Sir Augustus Alexander Brooke-Pechell, 7th Bt., son of Sir George Samuel Brooke-Pechell, 5th Bt. and May Robertson Bremner, on 24 September 1888.1 She and Lt.-Col. Sir Augustus Alexander Brooke-Pechell, 7th Bt. were divorced.1
