     Geoffrey Frederick Robert Hirst was born in 1895.¹ He was the son of Robert Frederick Hankey Hirst.¹ He married, firstly, Ina Margaret Lindner, daughter of Ernst Robert Lindner and Ina Violet Logie-Pirie, in 1920.¹ He married Phyllis Mary Mitchell, daughter of John Wodehouse Mitchell, in 1936.¹
     He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1918.¹ He retired from the military in 1920, with the rank of Captain, late of the Grenadier Guards.¹ He was personal private secretary to Secretary of State for War between 1925 and 1926.¹

     Robert Frederick Hankey Hirst died in 1925.¹

     Phyllis Mary Mitchell is the daughter of John Wodehouse Mitchell.¹ She married Geoffrey Frederick Robert Hirst, son of Robert Frederick Hankey Hirst, in 1936.¹
     From 1936, her married name became Hirst.¹

     Ina Violet Logie-Pirie was born circa 1867 at Newhills, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.¹ She was the daughter of Francis Logie-Pirie and Thomasina Bannerman.¹ She married Ernst Robert Lindner on 30 September 1893 at Burwash, Sussex, England.¹ She died in 1913 at New South Wales, Australia.¹
     From 30 September 1893, her married name became Lindner.
