     Hon. Edward Stanhope was born on 24 September 1840.¹ He was the son of Philip Henry Stanhope, 5th Earl Stanhope and Emily Harriet Kerrison.¹ He married Lucy Constance Egerton, daughter of Reverend Thomas Egerton and Charlotte Catherine Milner. He died on 21 December 1893 at age 53.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.¹ He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ In 1861 he played cricket for Kent.¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1865 entitled to practise as a barrister-at-law.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Mid Lincolnshire between 1874 and 1885.¹ He held the office of Under-Secretary of State for India in 1878.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Horncastle between 1885 and 1893.¹ He held the office of President of the Board of Trade between 19 August 1885 and 28 January 1886.¹ He held the office of Secretary of State for the Colonies between 3 August 1886 and 14 January 1887.¹ He held the office of Secretary of State for War between 14 January 1887 and 11 August 1892.¹

     Karen Crowthers married Rupert Melville-Ross, son of Sir Timothy David Melville-Ross and Camilla Probert.¹
     Her married name became Melville-Ross.¹

     Oliver Alfred Melville-Ross was born on 15 July 2002.¹ He is the son of Rupert Melville-Ross and Karen Crowthers.¹

     Erica Lanz was born on 16 February 1936.¹ She married Home Ronald Archibald Kidston, son of Captain Archibald Glen Kidston and Hélène Adeline Blanche Chapman.¹ She died on 8 April 2005 at age 69.¹
