Sir Charles Strachey was born on 17 September 1862.2 He was the son of Sir John Strachey and Katherine Jane Batten.1 He married Ada Margaret Raleigh, daughter of Reverend Alexander Raleigh, on 26 July 1893.2 He died on 15 March 1942 at age 79.2
He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)2 He was Assistant Under-Secretary, Colonial Office.1

Sir Arthur Strachey was born on 5 December 1858.1 He was the son of Sir John Strachey and Katherine Jane Batten.1 He married Ellen Conolly, daughter of John Conolly, on 22 October 1885.1 He died on 14 May 1901 at age 42 at Simla, India, without issue.1
