     Sir Bernard Alexander Brocas Burrows was born on 3 July 1910.1 He was the son of Edward Henry Burrows and Ione Macdonald.1 He married Ines Walter, daughter of John Walter, in 1944.1 He died on 7 May 2002 at age 91.1
     He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1950.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1955.1 He held the office of Ambassador to NATO.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Turkey between 1958 and 1962.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1970.1 He wrote the book The Defence Of Western Europe, published 1982.1 He wrote the book Footnotes In the Sand, published 1990.1 He wrote the book A Diplomat In A Changing World, published 2001.1
