     Brig.-Gen. Robert Lumsden Ricketts was born on 9 July 1872 at Allahabad, Bengal, India.¹ He was the son of George Henry Mildmay Ricketts and Charlotte Anne Gough.¹ He married Annie Murdoch Johnstone, daughter of William Johnstone, in 1899.¹
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the 10th Lancers.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1954.¹

     Annie Murdoch Johnstone is the daughter of William Johnstone.¹ She married Brig.-Gen. Robert Lumsden Ricketts, son of George Henry Mildmay Ricketts and Charlotte Anne Gough, in 1899.¹
     From 1899, her married name became Ricketts.¹
