     Arthur Joseph Taylor was born on 12 October 1812.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Thomas William Taylor and Anne Harvey Petrie.¹ He was baptised on 15 November 1812 at Fort William, Bengal, India.¹ He died in 1873.¹

     He gained the rank of Captain in the 2nd Derby Regiment.¹ He gained the rank of Major.¹

     Florence Julia Robarts is the daughter of Captain James William Robarts.¹ She married Major Frederick Edward Verney Taylor, son of Pierce Gilbert Edward Taylor and Sophia Amaranthe Shaw, on 18 June 1884 at Dharmsala, Punjab, India.¹
     From 18 June 1884, her married name became Taylor.¹
