     Samuel Henry Harford was born circa 1815.¹ He was the son of Henry Charles Harford and Susan Harriet Bryce.¹ He married Alice Victoire Skeffington, daughter of Rev. Hon. Thomas Clotworthy Skeffington and Hon. Henrietta Catherine Blackwood, on 29 March 1865.¹ He died on 14 March 1914.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Cape Mounted Rifles.¹

     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Irish Rifles.¹

     Hon. Harriet Margaretta Skeffington was born circa 1816.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Henry Skeffington, 2nd Viscount Ferrard and Harriet Skeffington, Viscountess Massereene.¹ She married David Ross of Bladensburg, son of General Robert Ross and Elizabeth Catherine Glasscock, on 9 December 1843.¹ She died on 31 October 1883.¹
     From 9 December 1843, her married name became Ross.¹
