Sir William Douglas of Glenbervie, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir Robert Douglas, 3rd of Glenbervie and Elizabeth Auchinleck.1 He married Janet Irvine, daughter of Alexander Irvine of Drum, before 1624.1 He died after 25 March 1653.1
He was created 1st Baronet Douglas, of Glenbervie, co. Kincardine [Nova Scotia] on 28 May 1625, with special remainder to his heirs male whatsoever.1

Sir Robert Douglas of Glenbervie, 4th Bt. was born circa 1662.1 He was the son of William Douglas and Agnes Scott.1 He married, firstly, Mary Ruthven, daughter of Sir William Ruthven of Dunglass, circa 1690.1 He married, secondly, Janet Patterson of Dunmore circa 1694.1 He died on 27 January 1748.1
He wrote the book Scots Baronage.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Douglas, of Glenbervie, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1625] on 24 July 1692.1
