     Major Hugh Gascoyne Lyons-Montgomery was born on 30 October 1913 at Long Ashton, Somerset, England.^1,2 He was the son of Major Hugh Frederick Lyons-Montgomery and Winifred Gascoyne Dalziel.¹ He married Sonia Florence Oldrini, daughter of Basil Claude John Oldrini, in 1940 at Shillong, Bengal, India.¹ He died on 5 May 1944 at age 30 at Kohima, Burma, killed in action.¹
